Workout Wednesday, March 16th, 2016

Current goals: 

+ Squat a plate by my birthday (mid September) (current PR: 95lbs ~43kg)
+ Run/walk a mile in under 10 minutes (current PR: 12 mins 13 seconds)
+ Long Term Goal: Run 5k in under half an hour.

    Things I did:

    + Took at least 30 seconds off my mile by increasing the walking and running speeds. I got it under 12 minutes today, but had to stop and tie my shoe mid way  through, and I'm not sure if that makes it a legal time. Increased distance to 1.2 miles!
    + Squatted twice at 95lbs after 4x5 of 90lbs. My record is 3 at 95lbs. Failed gloriously on the 3rd attempt today.
    + Tried  Bottoms up kettlebell carry since the trainers had their clients doing it all this week, and my left wrist is pretty weak. The next day I had pain in my elbow running down into my ring and pinky fingers.  I think this is called tennis elbow?
    + Skipped bench press this week. I have some elbow pain and had a really busy day Monday with students (I go to the gym four times a week so sometimes I can't just rearrange my schedule without sacrificing a rest day)
    + OHP was a mess. I was much weaker than last week which was frustrating since I was hoping I'd get some use from my washers/microplates.

    Things I hope to work on this week:

    + So according to the running progression my physical therapist gave me, level 2 (where I am now) is suppose to go up to 2 miles. I don't think I've ever run two miles. In. My. Life. Despite me telling them several times I am not a runner I don't think they believed me (because that would mean I was primarily a weightlifter). So this week I'm going to try to increase my running distance.
    + 3 sets of 5 at 95lbs! that will be the most I've ever squatted! I hope to have done 100lbs at least once by my next PT appointment.
