The physical therapists took a look at my running gate and surprisingly did not compare it to that of one of the larger animals of the Serengeti!

Current goals: 

  • Squat a plate by my birthday (mid September) (current PR: 95lbs ~43kg)

    Things I did:

    • Overhead Pressed 50lbs for 3 sets of 5, and even managed on at 55lb! I think the gym owner saw me, too.
    • Squatted! Nothing heavy (even for me), but I did it, got just a little discomfort (loads less than last time) and my knee felt fine the next day.
    • Managed to bench 3 sets of 6 at 65lbs. Not great, but I'm trying to get 3 sets of 5 at 70lbs by increasing the reps at a lower weight.
    • I'm having more trouble fitting in all my PT exercises. Like doing body weight squats the same day I do weighted squats. I can't exactly start doing them at work, even if it's time for a break.
    • Ran for the first time in... at least a month? I'm only supposed to do short run/walk cycles, but I traversed a mile at the PTs on Tuesday. Not allowed to run again till Friday.

    Things I hope to work on this week:

    • Getting squat weight back up.
    • A plan to keep moving forwards in bench. I guess I'm going to have to buy microplates/washers.
