Workout Wednesday, April 20th

April 20, 2016

Current goals:

Squat a plate by my birthday (mid September) (current PR: 110lbs ~50kg)
+ Run/walk a mile in under 10 minutes (current PR: 11 mins 11 seconds)
+ Long Term Goal: Run 5k in under half an hour

      Things I did:

+ OHP 60lbs. It's slow and super grindy, but it was definitely not a pushpress!
+ Squatted 110lbs for 3 reps, but failed after only 1 the next set, and got 2 on the third set. Did not hit my goal, but 110lb x3 is still a new record, and I know what I'm going for next time!
+ In the next month I should hit my body weight.
+ Raised my row to 45s lbs, and found out the dumbbell was brand new after the knurling left an imprint in my hand!
+ Got back into my groove with deadlifting! I was sitting down way to far, hence the desire to squat it up like with a hex/trap bar.
      + Still no running.
+ Started using a wider grip on bench, which really helps my form. I didn't hit any new PRs, but I felt like I was in a lot more control of the bar, and helped me keep the bar on path.
+ Realize my OHP is 80% of my bench. Which would be impressive if my bench wasn't so bad. :(

Things I hope to work on this week:

+ More deadlifting! I took such a long break I've had to deload a whole lot, and my ego took a hit.
+ Squat 3x3 at 110lbs. I should be hitting my body weight in the next month and a plate after that, 3 months ahead of schedule!
        + Find time for cardio.
+ Getting my bench form down! I feel like I might be onto something with the wider grip.

        1. Way to work toward your goal- a 60lb OHP is no joke!

        2. Great job!!! Those weights are no joke. I've been laking motivation for a while now, and have gained a little weight as a result, so my goal for the coming week is to get out of my own way and get back to a consistent and healthy routine.
